Professor Xia Qingyou
Professor and doctoral supervisor of Southwest University, chief scientist of the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (Program 973), distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars, and leading talent of the Ten Thousand Talents Program.
Main research fields: molecular biology of silkworm; Genomes and functional genomes; Utilizing transgenic and other technologies for silkworm variety improvement and material innovation
Main achievements: Completed the Genome project of Chinese Silkworm, and the first author published results on Science. Establish a research platform technology for silkworm functional genomes. Outstanding contributions have been made in the identification and functional analysis of important genes, with over 50 authorized patents and over 300 published papers, with a total impact factor of over 400 points. Has successively won multiple provincial and ministerial level awards such as the National Natural Science Second Prize, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award Youth Award, and social titles such as the National May Day Labor Medal.
